FSUSB242GEVB: USB Type-C Port Protection Switch

Summary

The FSUSB242GEVB is an evaluation board for the FSUSB242 USB switch that provides high voltage and surge protection for the HSD+/HSD- lines. Electrical surge is an increasing concern for small form factor connectors such USB microB and USB Type-C™. This evaluation board will demonstrate 2:1 switching while maintaining sufficient signal integrity so the USB 2.0 HS eye diagram can still be passed.

The FSUSB242GEVB is designed to help the users quickly evaluate the FSUSB242 in the current system. The male/plug connector goes to the existing system and the female/receptacle connector will become the new outward facing port. The board requires existing system power or an external power supply to power the device. The user can connect power to the VDD test point to power the board.
